Regional Sports Association Brings Youth Together

Posted

This past weekend hosted 185 students and coaches from 8 International Schools in South East Asia to compete in two major sports tournaments in Phnom Penh. The Mekong River International Schools Association (MRISA) hosts 6 tournaments a year around South East Asia.

Senior (age 14-18) boys and girls played in a Volleyball tournament, spending two days competing and battling for a championship metal.  The local sports powerhouse, International School of Phnom Penh (ISPP) swept both divisions, winning first in boys and girls.

Meanwhile, Junior (age 14-18) boys and girls fought for victory during the two day tournament, resulting in an exciting victory by International School of Phnom Penh (ISPP) in the boys game and a close win by the United Nations International School Hanoi (UNIS) girls over ISPP.

MRISA is an association of eight international schools in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Thailand: Saigon South International School (SSIS), Hanoi International School (HIS), United Nations International School Hanoi (UNIS), Vientiane International School (VIS), International School Phnom Penh (ISPP), Northbridge International School Cambodia (NISC), International School Eastern Seaboard (ISE) and International School Ho Chi Minh City (ISHCMC).
