Bring Your Own MacBook

Students need increasing access to technology in order to create, communicate and collaborate to complete authentic projects. For this reason, the International School of Phnom Penh has embarked on a technology initiative that involves the integration of technology across all curriculum areas. The programme is 1:1 and students will use their own MacBook at school in all of their classes.

All students enrolled at ISPP in Grades 6-11 are required to bring a MacBook for use at school. Parents or sponsors of student school fees are therefore responsible for the purchase of the MacBook device and for its maintenance and insurance. ISPP recommends that all students purchase Apple Care, which must be executed at the time of purchase.

Required Specifications:

  • MacBook Air 13": 1.3 GHz, i5, 4GB, 128 GB Flash or
  • MacBook Pro 13": 2.5 GHz Dual Core Intel i5 320 GB Hard drive
  • iLife, iWork
  • Minimum required operating system: OS X Yosemite 10.10.1

ISPP has entered a new era involving the integration of technology to support and enhance student learning which is supported by the latest research and best practices. The focus on technology is across grade levels and all subjects. Our programme is aligned with the IB framework that is founded on a continuum of age-appropriate skills and competencies that are taught explicitly and applied throughout all subject areas. To learn more about the pedagogy and framework of ISPP's 1:1 programme, you can view this eBook.
