ISPP Book Week
Growing a community of readers!
Monday 13 – Friday 17 January 2020

It’s all about books this week!

Events at ISPP help us achieve the mission of the school and the International Baccalaureate. They are seen as an integral part of our programme. Events are an extension of our curriculum and help students learn through a variety of lenses and contexts.

Events reflect their purpose as authentically as possible. Book Week cherishes the power of written and spoken language in our community. Book Week works to inspire passion in readers who use symbols, oral language, pictures, print, and play to make meaning of the world around them.

Visiting authors this year are Hanna Alkaf and Joshua Chiang. Hanna will be meeting with small groups of middle and high school students as well as be a member of our community event, Growing a Community of Readers, on Tuesday night and Joshua will have small group sessions with Grades 1-5 and also be a part of our community event, Growing a Community of Readers, Tuesday night.

We will also be having Mystery Readers, ISPP Book Fair, Candlelight Read Aloud, Mother Tongue Read Aloud, Book Character Parade, Community Event and Daily Book Trivia.
